What it means to live beautifully.

If you made it here I’m giving you a big & warm virtual hug right now.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my website and read my very first blog post.

You guessed it, I’m Rachel!

With this being my first post and all I feel like the thing I’m “supposed” to do is give you a lengthy introduction to who I am, tell you my life story and so on… but I’m not going to do that because you can find out all about me on my about page and I hope you make your way there too.

Here however, you’ll find out what you can expect to see me sharing on the blog and more importantly, why.

Let me start by asking you a question:

What does it mean to you to live beautifully?

The reason I ask is because I’ve done a lot of soul searching trying to get to the - why - in why I chose this path. I have always loved and appreciated beautiful interiors, but I’ve come to understand that creating beautiful spaces just for the sake of making them pretty is not the driving factor, in other words, it isn’t my why.

The thing I love most about creating beautiful interiors is the living that happens in them.

That’s my why.

Everything I love about helping people create the feeling of home is knowing that by doing so, I get to have a small part in all the beautiful living that will happen there.

Family gathering at the table for a meal, slow mornings with messy hair and a cup of coffee on the porch, sleepovers, quiet nights on the couch, roaring celebrations, dirty hands in the garden, messes in the kitchen made by little sticky fingers and that familiar sigh of comfort when you finally make it home after being gone too long.

These are the reasons why I do what I do.

I design beautiful interiors to help you get the most out of home.

And so with this blog, I intend to share my original recipes and designs, design inspiration, homemaking tips and strategies, and occasional personal updates. All this in the hope that you’ll follow along, maybe implement some of the things I share in your own home, and be inspired to live beautifully.
